What do they do?
When a baby dies suddenly and unexpectedly, the death is a terrible shock and can be one of the most distressing events that can ever happen. The Lullaby Trust offers confidential support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young toddler. This is available immediately or at any later time in people's lives. This support is for families, friends, carers and professionals. They have different ways of supporting people through this difficult time, providing a range of support services and resources, and can provide details of other organisations which might be helpful.
Research and Advice
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexplained death of a baby where no cause is found. While SIDS is rare, it can still happen and there are steps parents can take to help reduce the chance of this tragedy occurring. The Lullaby Trust funds research to identify risks during sleep, and how to reduce them, and offers training and advice to professionals as well as parents.
